ACCOMMODATIONS

AIRPORT

Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA):  For greatest convenience, we recommend making reservations with Santa Barbara as your final destination. Flights connect from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, and Denver. The UCSB campus is a five-minute drive from the airport. Visit the SB Airport’s official website for further information.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Connect to UCSB via the Santa Barbara Airbus motorcoach shuttle (visit their website for schedules and reservations). Get off at the Goleta stop.

​

Airport/Airbus Shuttles to UCSB: For conference guests staying in UCSB housing, FREE shuttle service is available on arrival and departure days to and from Santa Barbara Airport and Santa Barbara Airbus Goleta Stop. Just phone our front desk for pickup up.

DIRECTIONS

By Train: Amtrak terminals are located in Santa Barbara (12–15 miles from UCSB) and Goleta (3 miles from UCSB). However, travelers will need to arrange their own taxi or other transportation to UCSB campus; we do NOT provide free shuttle service to or from the train stations.

 

By Car:  UCSB is easily accessible from highway US-101. (Note when using maps websites, there is no proper street address for UCSB; you can get directions by entering zip code 93106.

From the 101 Southbound:

Exit Los Carneros. Turn right onto Los Carneros Road. Continue to Mesa Rd - Turn left. The third driveway will be parking Lot 17 (right turn).

From 101 Northbound:

217 onto campus

 

Stay in the right hand lane at all times. Go past 3 stop lights. Parking lot 17 will be a left turn. If you go to a stop sign you have gone too far.  We are not located at the police station/SBC Fire station 17.

 

Overflow parking is Lot 16 and walk to the EOC. Parking is limited in Lot 17 – carpooling is encouraged. If you have an e plate no parking permit is needed. Call 805-450-1437 if you become lost.

PARKING

Please park in the EH&S Lot 17 or overflow parking in Lot 16.   Eplates and other UC cars do not need a parking pass.
Reciprocity for permits from other campuses can be provided at the UC Santa Barbara Transportation & Parking services website.

Lunch will be provided free to attendees. Dinner is on your own. Please note that reimbursement for meals in lieu of those provided at the training is NOT allowed under UC policy G-28.
