ACCOMMODATIONS

AIRPORT
There are two major airports in the Bay Area, the Oakland International Airport (OAK) and the San Francisco International AIrport (SFO).  OAK is located 15 miles from UC Berkeley.  SFO is located approximately 25 miles from campus.  Public transportation is available to UC Berkeley from Oakland or San Francisco via BAY Area Rapid Transit (BART).

DIRECTIONS
UC Berkeley’s campus can be reached via Highway 80, or alternatively by Highway 24.

  • Campus Shuttles — Campus and LBNL shuttles (510) 642-5149 stop at Ellsworth and Bancroft Way, 1/2 block from the Tang Center. The Loop offers intra-campus rides for eligible faculty, staff, and students with disabilities.

  • Public Transportation —The Tang Center is a short walk from the Downtown Berkeley BART station (510) 465-2278 and AC Transit bus stops (510) 839-2882). See the Visitor's Center page for details.

  • Local Taxi Cabs — Click here for a listing of local taxi companies.

  • East Bay Paratransit — Public transit service for people who are unable to use regular buses or trains.

  • Plan your trip with 511.org.

PARKING

  • Urgent Care — Free drop-off parking (30 minutes) is provided at the Tang Center Urgent Care entrance, off Durant Avenue, for Urgent Care visits only.

  • Public Parking for Visitors — Metered street parking is located on Bancroft Way and Durant Avenue.

  • Public Parking Lots — Durant Avenue between Telegraph Avenue and Dana Street (two blocks east of the Tang Center)

  • Holders of campus C, F, or S permits — Use the Ellsworth parking structure at Ellsworth Street and Channing Way.

  • Holders of campus C, F, or M permits — Use the Recreational Sports Facility lot on Bancroft at Ellsworth (located across the street from Tang)

* Campus parking in the vicinity is not always available. Visitors are encouraged to use alternative methods of transportation, if this is an available option.



HOTEL
The Hotel Shattuck Plaza is a boutique hotel conveniently located near the Downtown Berkeley BART station and two blocks from campus.  To make a reservation, call and ask for the UC Berkeley rate: $199/night (subject to availability).

The Berkeley City Club is a historic hotel locate done block from campus.  To make a reservation, call and mention that you are attending a UC event and would like the UCB discount rate: $159/night on weeknights (subject to availability).

MEALS
Breakfast and lunch will be provided free to attendees. Dinner is on your own. Please note that reimbursement for meals in lieu of those provided at the training is NOT allowed under UC policy G-28.

WIFI
Guest accounts are available to connect to our wireless network on campus. If your campus participates in EDUROAM you can use your campus credentials to login.
